How do I pay for a mobility scooter?

Medicare or your private insurance may cover part of the device if it is medically necessary, but please check with them directly first. You would need to pay for the scooter in full and then seek reimbursement. We do offer financing through multiple third party providers but it is subject to their terms and credit checks. Most of our folding mobility scooters are equipped with wireless disassembly which allows you to easily transition from assembled to disassembled (into five pieces) in a matter of moments.

Does insurance cover mobility scooters?

The process usually takes several months because of paperwork and doctor visits that are needed for final approval. After you are approved you’re also going to be extremely limited to only a few select models. This means you most likely won’t be able to select the better models with all of the features you desire. Please speak with your insurance provider to see if you’re eligible.

Does Medicare help pay for a mobility scooter?

They may, but if they do here at Suncoast Mobility we do not accept payment from them. However, often times they will reimburse you after you purchase directly from us at your discounted price. You will need to meet with your primary care doctor who takes Medicare and they will evaluate your condition and prescribe a mobility scooter if they see fit. The doctor will create you prescription that that will notify Medicare that a mobility scooter is needed.
